3 weeks today sees mountune headline the Ford Fest show for the second year running. Hosted once more by Santa Pod Raceway on September 17th, the event will again draw in the crowds with the large retail village, various club displays, and of course the mountune stand, which will exhibit a range of our performance cars, details on new product releases and of course there will be goodie bags!

Last weekend proved to be a dramatic weekend for the British Touring Car Championship at Croft.
An unfortunate multi-car collision during qualifying for round 13 on Saturday left mountune powered Team Shredded Wheat Racing with DUO driver Luke Davenport hospitalised. Luke suffered significant injuries and is currently in intensive care in an induced coma with multiple chest injuries, lung damage, broken right leg, broken pelvis, broken right arm and concussion. The whole team at mountune would like to wish him a full and speedy recovery, and our thoughts are also with drivers Aron Taylor-Smith and Jeff Smith who were injured in the accident.
The weekend took a more positive turn once racing began on Sunday and presented a podium lock-out for mountune powered drivers in the finale. Mat Jackson looked right at home as he took his first podium finish of the season, crossing the line third in Race 1, which he later backed up with an emphatic drive, taking the chequered flag in Race 3, dedicated to new team member, Luke Davenport. Jackson described the win as “a great result” after fighting off efforts from Ollie Jackson at the start of the race and later a challenge from Sutton.
Jackson's win marked the 250th for Ford Machinery in the BTCC and together with two points scored from team-mate Martin Depper, Team Shredded Wheat Racing with Duo reached the summit of the Independent Teams’ table.
Adrian Flux Subaru Racing saw a lights to flag victory for Ashley Sutton in Race 1, holding off 'King of Croft' Turkington to take the win at the North Yorkshire circuit in his mountune powered Subaru Levorg. Sutton went on to finish second in Race 2, and again in Race 3 ahead of team mate Plato, who took to the podium for the first time this season. Sutton said: “We’re having a fantastic weekend so far. We’ve bounced back from having a car that didn’t look in the best shape after qualifying yesterday to this – full credit to the team.”
Sutton is now sitting in 4th in the drivers standings, with Jackson and Plato in 9th and 15th respectively.

Unsurprisingly, whilst with us most recently, Tim couldn’t wait to get behind the wheel of our MR265 to review, and despite the rain, gave the car a good run-in down the nearby Essex country lanes. “What a blast, this is ridiculous” he exclaimed as he got to grips with the car's “go-kart” feel.
Shmee noted that the Fiesta wanted to “dart down countryside lanes” and admired the MR265 upgrade kit with its hybrid turbocharger, calibration, large capacity intercooler and high-flow intake for its additional 30 percent performance increase over the standard car.
“I knew it was going to feel quick, but not this quick. What a barrel of laughs. Genuine hilarity. Brilliant, brilliant package – I am genuinely loving this,” he laughed.
Shmee told fans that for darting down country roads, “what else would you want to be in?” He added that the Fiesta had opened his eyes to what hot hatches are capable of, noting that: “It's not afraid of lighting up the tyres. It’s a 256bhp fun machine, it’s just entertaining to drive.”
Back at the workshop, Shmee had also opted for further upgrades to his RS, namely the mountune Axle-Back Exhaust system, now fully endorsed by Ford. Filming the process, he said he was surprised by the quick fitment turnaround and couldn't wait for the first start-up of the car once installed. “Oh goodness, that is raspier - I like that a lot - I am very very pleased about this”.
With unpredictable popping and banging as he drove away from the workshop, Shmee took his now noisier RS for a sport mode spin, smiling the whole time. “That’s what we’re talking about there - utterly brilliant - I think I’m in for many many happy miles driving this.”
Commenting that the RS was already brilliant, Shmee added that, complete with the mountune axle-back exhaust, “it’s now even better, which is exactly how we want it!”
